Cognitive Burden and Aging
Globally, approximately 13% of the population was over the age of 65 in 2020—a figure projected to rise to nearly 24% by 2100. In some countries, such as Japan and Italy, over 30% of the population is already over the age of 65. (Alvarez, 2023)
